Committe to Inquire Fauzia’s death, hospital record sealed
KARACHI: Federal Adviser on Interior Rehman Malik ordered an inquiry into the death of Fauzia Wahab, will be conducted on the basis of complete report being prepared by a team of doctors, Aaj news reported.
The committee will be headed by the director general health and will comprise senior doctors. It will investigate whether there was any negligence on the part of the doctors treating Wahab, according to an official statement.
Talking to media after funeral prayers of Fauzia Wahab on Monday, he said that the late leader was a precious asset of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and a brave and bold woman who struggled alongside Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto for democracy.
He said a team of doctors will review the entire record relating to her operation. Investigations would be ordered if any negligence was found in the record, he added.
While, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) raided OMI and sealed records of the hospital.
Fauzia Wahab was admitted in OMI hospital on May 27 due to her gall baldder surgery. She was under treatment since then. She had undergone three operations in that duration. But couldn't recover and died on Sunday.
