Lyari affair was a raid, not an operation: SSP Chaudhry Aslam
KARACHI: Senior Superintendent of Police (CID), Chaudhry Aslam, stated that the Lyari affair was not an operation; it was rather a raid.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi on Friday, the SSP said  that the CID department, in their latest stint recovered a major amount of arms and ammunition from the troubled area of Lyari. He further elaborated the arms and ammunition to include rocket launchers and hand grenades.
Aslam further stated that the raid had been conducted after receiving a tip from Baloch Liberation Army's (BLA) alleged accused members; the accused members, according to the SSP, had been supplying the arms and ammunition since two years.
The SSP was also found quoting that he had received information about active involvement of BLA members within the troubled Lyari area.
