WikiLeaks owner interviews Hezbollah leader in his latest talk show

Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah, became the first guest to be interviewed at Julian Assange’s new talk show. Hassan Nasrallah is a notorious leader whose Syria-backed Hezbollah militia is considered a terrorist organization in the United States and Europe.

The half hour talk show, aired on Tuesday saw Assange questioning Nasrallah about Israel, Lebanon, Syria, theology and encryption. Nasrallah, who is rarely seen on English-language television, largely stuck to well-established positions.

Nasrallah, speaking through a translator, revealed that his militant organization was in contact with Bashar Assad’s rivals.

"You have an opposition that is not prepared for dialogue ... all it wants is to bring down the regime," he said.

Assange, in his talk show, stated that he would be criticized and would be called upon as a traitor for interviewing the militant leader with the help of Kremlin-backed broadcaster RT. But he also stated that RT had great following and his guest told him things they "could not say on a mainstream TV network."

The interview with the Hezbollah leader was carried out via videolink and with the help of translators.

Assange, the controversial WikiLeak owner, is currently under stringent bail conditions within England fighting exile to Sweden on sex related allegations.
