He claimed that the PML-N would implement its agenda with the cooperation of the masses for ensuring sovereignty of the country and a dignified status for Pakistan in the comity of nations.

"PML-N brought change to the country earlier and will do the same once again through its revolutionary approach. PML-N is capable to put the country on the road to progress and development," Mian Nawaz Sharif told a general council meeting of the Pakistan Muslim League-N Punjab at Aiwan-e-Iqbal.

Nawaz Sharif said that the workers who supported PML-N in the dictatorial era were a precious asset of the party. He congratulated Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on his unopposed election as President PML-N and asked him to further accelerate the mission of public service.

He said that Punjab government had taken revolutionary measures for the uplift of education sector. He mentioned that the youth would benefit from programmes of setting up of IT labs in high schools and distribution of laptops among talented boy and girl students and would serve the country to make it reach to the heights of progress and development.

He said that services of Shahbaz Sharif for the people were today being acknowledged in Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as well.

PML-N President said that had the democratic process continued in the country and democratic governments had been allowed to complete their tenure, the situation in Pakistan would have been different.

Had the PML-N been given the opportunity to implement its development agenda, Pakistan would have been far ahead of other countries of the region, he observed.

He further said that there was no terrorism or extremism in Pakistan during the era of Muslim League-N and it was a peaceful and fast developing country.

He said that Pakistan was made a nuclear power in that era and this capability was achieved not with the borrowed money but with the hard earned money of people of Pakistan.

He said that Pakistan was proving its mettle in every sector during PML-N rule. He said that though sanctions were imposed on the country as a punishment for carrying out nuclear tests but PML-N leadership made a firm resolve to overcome all the problems and achieve the aim of progress and prosperity of the country.

Furthermore, he said, motorway was constructed through indigenous resources and industrial process was accelerated. PML-N has always promoted politics of principles and owing to its clean politics, a change will soon be witnessed in the country.

He said that those who raised slogans of electing Musharraf as president in uniform ten times have now joined hands with those who have got red warrants issued against him. These elements, he added, had also accused that Peoples Party was thirsty for their blood.
