Aisam set to get engaged
Pakistani tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi will get engaged to British-based Pakistani girl Faha Akmal Makhdum at a ceremony in Lahore today.
The couple is due to get married in December.
Qureshi is currently Pakistan's top tennis player, and is the only Pakistani to reach the final of a Grand Slam.
The 31-year-old had reached the US Open doubles final last year with Indian partner Rohan Bopanna.
Qureshi and Bopanna have also created a campaign, 'Stop War Start Tennis', with their goal to play a match on the border joining India and Pakistan.
Faha lives in Ipswich and has done her BSc Hons in Psychology from the University of Essex and her MSc in Therapeutic Counselling (BACP accredited).
She has worked for the Pakistani High Commission in England and also practiced as a trainee counselor for Stepping Stones East in 2010.
