Dr Imran Farooq laid to rest
The dead body of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader, Dr Imran Farooq has been laid to rest at Shuhda Graveyard in Yaseenabad, Karachi Saturday.
The funeral prayers of Dr Imran Farooq, was offered under a very tight security at Jinnah Ground near party headquarters "Nine Zero" in Azizabad.
The funeral prayers, led by Maulana Asad Thanvi, was attended by a large number of party leaders, members and supporters as well as representatives of various parties.
The MQM’s headquarter Nine Zero is wearing mourning look.
Earlier, the dead body of slain leader of Muttahida Quomi Movement (MQM), Dr. Imran Farooq was escorted at his native home Sharifabad area of Karachi.
The body of Dr. Imran arrived in Karachi from Britain in PIA flight, PK-788 from London’s Heathrow airport on Saturday amid tight security.
Governor of Sindh province Sindh Ishratul Ibaad, other MQM leaders and interior minister Rehman Malik of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) entered the aircraft to receive Farooq's family.
Dr Imran Farooq was assassinated by unknown men in London on September 16.
British police has released an e-fit image on Friday of a man they want to speak to in connection with the murder of Imran Farooq.
