Nine killed in Indian factory fire
At least nine people were killed and 13 injured seriously on Wednesday when a fire broke out in a leather factory in the eastern India city of Kolkata, an official said.
"Fire brigade officials found nine charred bodies and 13 people with serious burns lying on the floor," said Gopal Bhattacharya, fire brigade director for West Bengal state.
Police were investigating the cause of fire in the crowded area where the factory was operating illegally.
