Limited traffic resumes on Parachinar-Tal road amid relief efforts in Kurram
Limited traffic has resumed on the Parachinar-Tal road following recent relief efforts in Kurram District. The district administration reported that a convoy of 35 vehicles arrived on Wednesday, delivering essential supplies, while 10 vehicles were allocated for flood-affected individuals.
In addition to the relief supplies, assistance was dispatched to the border villages of Upper Kurram, including Teri Mingal, Maqbal, and Boshehra.
The president of the Traders Association in Parachinar, Haji Imdad, noted that long queues formed as several trucks and smaller vehicles, loaded with essential goods, arrived in the city. Many items sold out quickly, with most goods being purchased directly from the vehicles.
A leader of the Poultry Association, Abid Hussain, reported that as soon as the trucks carrying chickens arrived, they were sold out immediately, with many of the chickens found dead upon opening the vehicles.
Imdad emphasized that the current number of vehicles is insufficient for a population exceeding 400,000 in Parachinar, stating that at least 500 trucks are needed to adequately meet the demand for supplies.
