Chinese star Bai Ling arrested in US for shoplifting: police
Chinese actress Bai Ling was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport for shoplifting, police said on Thursday.
The 37-year-old star, who has appeared in several Hollywood films including "Star Wars Episode III" and "Lords of Dogtown", was detained on Thursday for allegedly attempting to steal magazines and batteries worth 16 dollars.
Los Angeles Aiport Police sergeant Jim Holcomb said the actress was booked for misdemeanour shoplifting and released after agreeing to appear in court on March 5. "Miss Ling was cooperative throughout the process,'' Holcomb said.
Born in China, Ling moved to the United States in 1991 where she has had minor roles in a string of films including "The Crow," "Wild Wild West" and "Anna and the King."
She has also appeared in hit US television shows, "Lost" and "Entourage."
