Security forces killed 92 terrorists during counterterrorism operations across Balochistan on January 31, 2026, after coordinated attacks were carried out at multiple locations by Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Hindustan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.
In a statement, the ISPR said militants attempted to disrupt peace by carrying out multiple terrorist activities around Quetta, Mastung, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan, Panjgur, Tump, Gwadar and Pasni.
The attackers targeted civilians in Gwadar and Kharan districts, resulting in the killing of 18 innocent people, including women, children, the elderly and labourers.
The ISPR said the attacks were aimed at destabilising Balochistan and hindering development in the province.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies responded swiftly and launched “prolonged, intense and daring” clearance operations across affected areas, killing 92 terrorists, including three suicide bombers, the statement said.
The ISPR said 15 soldiers were martyred during the operations after “fighting gallantly” against the terrorists.
The military said intelligence reports confirmed that the attacks were planned and directed by terrorist leaders operating from outside Pakistan, who remained in direct communication with the attackers during the incidents.
The statement added that a day earlier, on January 30, security forces killed 41 terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khwarij in Panjgur and Harnai.
With these operations, the total number of terrorists killed in Balochistan over the past two days has reached 133.
“Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored terrorist found in the area,” the ISPR said.
“Relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision ‘Azm-e Istehkam’ (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” it said.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said on Saturday that the resolve of the state and the people against terrorism in Balochistan remains unshakable, and that the sacrifices of the country’s martyrs would never go in vain.
CM Bugti said terrorists had stormed homes and killed Baloch women and children, calling the acts brutal and cowardly. He said such attacks could not weaken national resolve and were instead aimed at boosting the militants’ declining morale.
He added that security forces effectively confronted the attackers and foiled their objectives.
Meanwhile, funeral prayers were offered for police personnel martyred in the terrorist incidents.
According to the ISPR, the funeral was attended by Interior Minister Naqvi, CM Bugti, the Balochistan Corps Commander, the Inspector General of Police Balochistan, and other senior officials.
Addressing the gathering, Naqvi said law enforcement agencies had acted with vigilance and successfully thwarted the attacks. He paid tribute to the martyred personnel, saying the nation salutes the brave sons who laid down their lives for Pakistan’s security.
CM Bugti said the terrorists’ cowardly actions would not break the nation’s resolve but would strengthen it further, adding that extremist elements would never succeed against the strength of the state and the determination of the people.
The attacks were carried out early Saturday across Quetta and several other parts of Balochistan, targeting civilians and public property.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies responded in a timely and effective manner, preventing further damage.
Due to security concerns, mobile data services in Quetta have been suspended indefinitely.
Train operations within Balochistan and between the province and other parts of the country have also been halted.
Railway officials said services, including Jaffer Express, Bolan Mail, Chaman Passenger Train, and operations on the Zahedan section, remain suspended. While the Jaffer Express from Peshawar has been stopped at Jacobabad. Affected passengers will be refunded their tickets, railway authorities said.
