The Foreign Office has confirmed that senior Pakistani diplomat, Ahsan Wagan, stationed in Turkmenistan, was denied entry to the United States and subsequently deported.
According to a spokesperson, Ambassador Wagan was in the US on a private visit when he was sent back from Los Angeles.
The FO spokesperson emphasised that a “comprehensive investigation” was underway and the ministry was addressing the situation.
He urged the people to avoid speculation regarding the incident.
According to reports, Wagan was stopped at the Los Angeles International Airport and subsequently deported.
Officials cited “unspecified complaints” against him, though no official statement has been issued by the US State Department or the Department of Homeland Security.
