UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov escorted off flight after argument
UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov was escorted off a flight from Las Vegas to Los Angeles on Saturday after a dispute with a flight attendant. The incident, which was partially filmed by witnesses, began because Nurmagomedov was seated in an emergency exit row. Flight attendants, following standard procedure, asked him to confirm he could assist passengers in case of an emergency.
Nurmagomedov, reportedly confused by the question, engaged in a verbal disagreement with the crew. He claimed he had already spoken to a member of staff at check-in about his seating arrangement, and expressed his belief that the request to confirm his ability to assist in an emergency was unfair, given his prior check-in interaction.
The argument escalated when Nurmagomedov appeared unwilling to move from his seat. A flight attendant is heard on video stating, “We cannot allow you to sit in the exit row, or you’re going to have to get off this plane.”
Following further refusal to change seats, a supervisor was called, and Nurmagomedov was subsequently escorted off the plane by flight attendants. During the incident, he was heard expressing his dissatisfaction with the situation, stating that his treatment was “unfair.”
The 36-year-old former UFC lightweight champion may have been traveling to Los Angeles to attend UFC 311 at the Intuit Dome, where Islam Makhachev was defending his title against Arman Tsarukyan. The exact details of the initial misunderstanding and the specifics of Nurmagomedov’s interaction with check-in staff remain unclear.
