Mysterious death of NAB Grade-19 officer in Islamabad

Islamabad police have reported the mysterious death of a Grade-19 officer of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), identified as Waqas Ahmed.

His body was discovered in a guest house located in Sector G-6/4.

According to police officials, the room was locked from the inside, and initial investigations revealed no visible signs of violence or injury on the body.

The remains have been shifted to Polyclinic Hospital for further examination.

Sources indicate that Waqas Ahmed hailed from Lahore and previously served as an investigating officer in the OGRA case.

Given the sudden and unexplained nature of his death, authorities are examining multiple angles to determine the cause.

Waqas Ahmed was a high-ranking official involved in several high-profile cases. He was part of the investigative team for the Steel Mills scandal and played a key role in the OGRA investigation.

He was also a member of the team that arrested former OGRA chairman Tauqeer Sadiq. Until his death, he was serving as Additional Director at NAB’s headquarters.

Police have stated that the actual cause of death will only be determined after the post-mortem report is released. Investigations are ongoing.
