A tragic accident on the M-9 Karachi-Hyderabad motorway early Wednesday has resulted in one fatality and eleven injuries, according to police reports.

The incident occurred when a bus traveling towards Karachi collided with a stationary trailer near the Power Cement factory.

The bus driver, identified as 50-year-old Mushtaq Shah, died instantly, while the injured individuals were transported to Liaquat University Hospital in Hyderabad.

Eyewitness accounts highlight the frequent occurrence of fatal accidents on Pakistani highways, often attributed to overspeeding, reckless overtaking, and a general disregard for traffic regulations.

In a related incident earlier, a collision between two vehicles near Dhabeji on the Karachi-Thatta National Highway claimed four lives, including that of a newlywed man and his mother, and left six others injured.

Authorities have pointed to poorly managed road repairs as a contributing factor to many of these accidents, with one side of the highway closed and traffic shifted to the opposite side, creating hazardous conditions for drivers.
