Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasts cold, dry weather in various parts

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted cold and dry weather for various areas of the country on Thursday (today).

In its daily forecast, the Met Office stated that “continental air prevails over most parts of the country.”

Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country while very cold and partly cloudy weather will prevail in hilly areas on February 14 (tomorrow).

But rain and snowfall are expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan while partly cloudy weather with light rain may occur in northwestern Balochistan on February 15.

The PMD predicted rain-wind with snowfall over hills in GB, upper KP, north-western Balochistan, Kashmir, Murree, Galliyat, and Pothohar Region on February 16.

Cold and dry weather persisted across most country regions on Wednesday. But isolated rain, accompanied by snowfall at higher altitudes, was reported in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir.

The lowest minimum temperatures recorded over the last 24 hours were: Leh -9 degrees Celsius, Gupis -5°C, and Quetta, Hunza, Astore, Parachinar at -3°C. Malam Jabba, Kalat, Skardu, and Kalam recorded temperatures of -2°C.
