Punjab announces new school timings after winter holidays

The Department of Special Education in Punjab has issued new school timings as schools are set to reopen on January 13 after the winter holidays.

Special education institutions will open at 9:00am and close at 2:00pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday. On Fridays, students will enjoy an earlier dismissal at 12:00 PM.

Institutions, which have been closed since December 20, will resume operations with adjusted school timings to accommodate the ongoing cold wave in the region.

In light of the continuing cold weather, the department is also relaxing uniform requirements for students in special educational institutions.

This change will be effective from January 13 until February 15, allowing students to wear warmer clothing to cope with the chilly temperatures.

Furthermore, all public and private schools in Punjab are scheduled to reopen on the same date, as the provincial government has not announced any further extensions to the winter holidays. Classes are expected to resume as planned despite the prevailing cold conditions.
