AJK extends winter vacations amid severe cold weather
The Education Department of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has announced an extension of winter vacations in schools due to the ongoing severe cold weather in the region.
In a notification issued on Tuesday, it was confirmed that all educational institutions will remain closed until January 4, 2025, with a new reopening date set for February 6, instead of the previously planned February 2.
This extension affects both public and private schools across AJK, as the intense cold has created difficulties for students and faculty in commuting.
The department emphasized that the decision was made to prioritize the safety and comfort of students.
