He stated that the intensity of the heat can be felt up to 50 degrees Celsius, and the low pressure system is causing a persistent heatwave situation. If the low-pressure system moves towards the coast, it may result in rainfall.
Sarfraz has warned that there is a possibility of extremely severe heatwave and hot winds in certain areas over the next 2 days.
On the other hand, the intensity of the heatwave and the heatwave situation in Karachi is ongoing. Since yesterday, there has been a sudden increase in the number of deaths due to the heatwave. In the last 36 hours, 17 people have lost their lives in various areas, including Liaquatabad, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Lyari, Jamshed Town, Landhi, and Garden.
The bodies have been shifted to cold storage facilities from different locations. Most of the deceased were reported to be drug addicts.
Hot and humid conditions are expected across most areas of the province. However, some isolated regions like Tharparkar, Umarkot, Mithi, Mirpur Khas, and Sanghar may experience rain showers and thunderstorms in the evening or at night. Additionally, light rainfall or drizzle is anticipated in Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Badin, Thatta, Sajawal, and parts of Karachi on Friday.
