Family dog accidentally starts house fire in US

A family in the United States was left reeling after their pet dog accidentally started a fire that burned down their home.

Security camera footage shows the dog nonchalantly turning on the stove, causing a blaze that quickly spread to the kitchen cabinets.

The fire was first detected by a smart home device, which alerted the Colorado Springs Fire Department. Fortunately, one of the homeowners was able to put out the fire before it could cause more extensive damage.

However, the home suffered significant damage and the family has been forced to relocate while repairs are carried out.

“We were asleep when it happened, and we couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw the footage,” said the homeowner. “Our dog has never shown any interest in the stove before, so this was a complete shock. We’re just relieved no one was hurt.”

Investigators piecing together the cause of the fire discovered the dog’s inadvertent role after reviewing the home’s surveillance video.
