PTI leaders, Naqvi discuss Imran, Bushra Bibi’s medical and access issues
1 min readCrucial matters, including former prime minister Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi and their medical treatment, came under discussion during a recent meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and central leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, and a sister of Imran Khan, were also present in the meeting held at the residence of PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan in Peshawar, arranged at his request.
The meeting also discussed PTI’s protest politics and possible negotiations with the government.
The sources added that the PTI raised the issue of restrictions on visits to Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in prison and the provision of necessary medical treatment.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi voiced concerns over obstacles preventing these meetings with the PTI founder.
It was agreed that Barrister Gohar Ali Khan would remain in contact with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi regarding access to Imran Khan.
The meeting agreed that coordination between the two sides would continue on matters related to PTI’s protest campaigns, political strategy, and possible negotiations with the government.
PTI sources also indicated that Bushra Bibi’s release also came under discussion. However, no definitive progress could be made, they added.
When contacted, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan declined to comment on the meeting or issue an official statement.
