Four Fitna Al Khwarij militants, including a highly wanted commander, were killed in an intelligence-based operation conducted by security forces in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan, sources said on Thursday.

The slain militant leader, Omar, also known as Jan Mir or Tur Saqib, was wanted in multiple terrorism cases and carried a Rs3 million bounty on his head.

Omar alias Tur Saqib was the mastermind behind multiple attacks on both security forces and civilians in the region.

Authorities said the militant commander had established a network of underground bunkers, tunnels, and explosive traps around the Bubali Mosque area in Spinwam, posing a serious threat to local residents.

The operation was carried out using a coordinated strategy to encircle and neutralise the militants, the security sources added.

Defence analysts said the elimination of the militant leader is a major blow to the Fitna Al Khawarij terrorist network and is expected to restore peace in the area.

The sources said that the operation is part of the ongoing Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, targeting both Fitna Al Khawarij and Fitna Al Hindustan terror groups in North Waziristan.
