Pakistan marks one year of Operation Marka-e-Haq, vows to maintain operational momentum
2 min readPakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Tuesday congratulated the nation and armed forces on the first anniversary of Operation Marka-e-Haq against India, calling it a symbol of unity between the people, government and military.
The remarks came during the 275th Corps Commanders’ Conference held at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, which Field Marshal chaired, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Field Marshal said the operation demonstrated that Pakistan’s people, government and armed forces were united like a “knitted fabric” in the face of internal and external challenges.
The conference reviewed the national and regional security situation, ongoing counter-terrorism operations and the situation in Indian-administered Kashmir.
Commanders paid tribute to civilians, armed forces personnel and law enforcement officers killed in counter-terrorism operations, reaffirming that their sacrifices formed the foundation of Pakistan’s national security, unity and stability.
The forum reviewed losses inflicted on militants under Operation Ghazab lil-Haq and vowed to maintain operational momentum to dismantle terrorist networks and destroy their support structures.
Pakistan accused the Afghan Taliban government of sheltering terrorist organisations, calling it a threat to regional peace, while rejecting allegations of targeting civilians as misleading and baseless.
The conference condemned human rights violations, extrajudicial killings and demographic changes in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to diplomatic, political and moral support for Kashmiris.
Field Marshal directed corps commanders to maintain high operational readiness and adopt coordinated strategies to address both conventional and unconventional security threats.
