PSL 11 final: Peshawar Zalmi take on Hyderabad Kingsmen at Gaddafi Stadium
1 min readPeshawar Zalmi were 33 for 3 after four overs chasing a target of 130 runs against Hyderabad Kingsmen in the Pakistan Super League Season 11 final at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday.
Hyderabad Kingsmen were bowled out for 129 in 18 overs after Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam won the toss and elected to field.
Hyderabad’s innings was undermined by a dramatic middle-order collapse. Captain Marnus Labuschagne top-scored with 20 before being caught out, while Saim Ayub held firm with 54 runs. Glenn Maxwell was dismissed for a first-ball duck, and Kusal Perera was run out for one as four wickets fell for just four runs to leave Hyderabad reeling at 75 for 6.
Aaron Hardy was the pick of Peshawar’s bowlers with four wickets, while Bangladeshi fast bowler Naheed Rana took two. Spinners Sufyan Muqim and Muhammad Basit chipped in with two and one wicket respectively.
Naheed Rana replaced Khurram Shahzad as the only change in Peshawar’s playing eleven, while Hyderabad were unchanged.
Peshawar Zalmi entered the final as favourites, having won eight matches and lost one during the league stage, with one game washed out due to rain. Babar Azam leads the tournament’s run-scoring charts, and Sufyan Muqim has taken 21 wickets.
