Families of Pakistani crew kidnapped by Somali pirates seek urgent govt action
1 min readFamilies of Pakistani crew members abducted by Somali pirates have appealed to the government for immediate intervention, expressing deep concern over the safety of their loved ones.
Speaking at the Karachi Press Club, relatives of the crew aboard the oil tanker “Honor 25” urged Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to take urgent and effective steps to secure their release.
The families said they have been facing severe mental distress for the past 10 days, with no concrete progress despite repeated contact with authorities.
They called for the formation of a special committee and the appointment of a focal person to coordinate efforts and maintain communication.
According to the families, no ransom demand has yet been made by the abductors. They also appealed to Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Firled Marshal Syed Asim Munir to intervene in the matter.
The kidnapped crew includes Syed Kashif Umar Naqvi (second officer), Syed Hussain Yousaf (second engineer), Mahmood Ahmed Ansari (third engineer), Usman Ghani (fourth engineer), Aqeel Khan, Muhammad Yaseen, Imran Ali, Rafiullah Khan, Yasir Khan and Ameen Bin Shams.
Relatives said they remain in constant fear for the crew’s safety and are seeking swift government action to ensure their safe recovery.
