Afghan Taliban’s shelling in South Waziristan injures 5 civilians
1 min readPakistani security officials said on Wednesday that cross-border shelling from Afghanistan injured five civilians, including four children, in South Waziristan.
According to security sources, mortar fire from the Afghan side landed in the Angoor Adda area, striking a house belonging to local residents Karim Khan and Rehmatullah.
A woman and four children were seriously injured and shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Wana for treatment.
Officials said the attack targeted civilian areas along the border. A similar incident days earlier had left three people injured in the same region.
In response, Pakistani forces targeted multiple positions across the border.
Security sources claimed that Afghan Taliban personnel abandoned their posts following the retaliatory strikes.
They added that the ongoing Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq would continue until all designated objectives are achieved.
