The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain, strong winds and hailstorms in various parts of the country over the coming days, urging citizens to take precautionary measures.

According to the PMD, a westerly weather system will enter the country on April 16, bringing rain accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms from April 16 to 19.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rainfall is expected along with snowfall in mountainous areas during this period. Balochistan is likely to experience dust storms and thunderstorms with rain on April 17 and 18.

Islamabad and parts of Punjab may witness heavy rain, windstorms and hailstorms between April 16 and 18.

In Sindh, dusty winds are expected to prevail.

Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir are likely to receive light rain and strong winds from April 16 to 19, with snowfall over high mountains and possible hail at isolated locations.

The PMD has warned that heavy rainfall may trigger landslides in vulnerable areas.

Strong winds and downpours could damage weak structures and standing crops, while low-lying areas face a risk of urban flooding.
