Second monkeypox case reported in Karachi this year
1 min readKarachi authorities have confirmed the second monkeypox case of 2026 after a 22-year-old youth in Shahr-e-Quaid tested positive on Thursday.
The patient, who has no travel history, is showing all the symptoms of the disease and is currently undergoing treatment at Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital, officials said.
Dr Wahid Rajput confirmed that the youth belongs to the buffer zone and is receiving care.
The first monkeypox case this year was reported in January, making this the second confirmed instance in Karachi.
