Iran’s missile strikes hit the Israeli city of Haifa on Friday, with Israeli authorities confirming that northern areas, including the city and its surroundings, were targeted.

According to Arab broadcaster Al Jazeera, Israeli medical sources said at least six people were injured in the attacks, with some suffering severe fear and psychological stress.

Reports said one person was injured by flying debris caused by the intensity of the blasts, while property damage was also reported.

Haifa is considered a key strategic city in Israel, home to a large population and the country’s most important oil refinery, which processes around 70 percent of its total refining capacity.

Although the refinery remained safe in the latest attack, it has previously been targeted twice during the ongoing war.

Meanwhile, Israel’s Ministry of Health reported that 148 people were injured across the country in the past 24 hours.

According to Al Jazeera, a total of 6,594 people have been hospitalised since the conflict began in late February following attacks on Iran.
