At least 19 people were killed, and more than 60 were injured, after heavy rains triggered roof and wall collapses across parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, officials said on Monday.

The casualties were reported from multiple districts, including Bannu, North Waziristan, Abbottabad, Nowshera, and Lakki Marwat, where several houses were damaged.

Authorities said most deaths occurred when roofs and walls of structurally weak homes collapsed under persistent rainfall. Women and children were among the injured.

Rains have continued intermittently across the province for the past two days, inundating low-lying areas and disrupting daily life in several districts.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more rain over the next 24 hours, warning of further risks in vulnerable areas.

Rescue teams are continuing relief operations, while officials have urged residents to take precautionary measures.
