Middle East Film & Comic Con postponed to September
2 min readThe Middle East Film & Comic Con has been postponed, with organisers announcing that the event will now take place from September 11 to 13, 2026, instead of its originally scheduled dates of April 24 to 26.
The convention will still be held at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi.
Organisers shared the update through the event’s official social media channels, saying the new dates were selected to ensure a better experience for fans, guests and exhibitors.
According to organisers, the additional time will help them prepare a stronger programme featuring celebrity guests, comic creators, exhibitors, performances and competitions for the region’s pop culture community.
The event is considered one of the largest pop culture conventions in the region, attracting fans of comics, films, gaming, anime, cosplay and television.
The convention usually includes celebrity meet-and-greets, artist alleys, gaming zones, panel discussions, cosplay contests and exclusive merchandise.
Following the announcement, several fans raised questions about ticket refunds, particularly those who had already arranged travel or accommodation for the April dates.
In response, organisers confirmed that refunds can be requested through the event’s ticketing partner.
They also said attendees who booked accommodation through the official hotel partner, HotelMaps, would receive assistance to adjust or manage their reservations.
Many fans welcomed the decision, suggesting the additional preparation time could lead to more celebrity guests, exhibitors and a larger overall event.
Organisers also confirmed that tickets already purchased will remain valid for the new September dates, with further updates on guests and attractions expected in the coming months.
