Federal ministers meet President Zardari, discuss energy, economic issues

President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday met with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik at Bhutto House, Naudero.

Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Central President of PPP Women Wing Faryal Talpur, and Sindh Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah were also present during the meeting.

The meeting discussed law and order in the country, the economic situation, the energy sector, and the impact of petroleum product prices.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi briefed President Zardari on ongoing counter-terrorism operations across the country and the border security situation.

Pak-Afghan tensions and regional security challenges were also reviewed in detail.

Finance Minister Aurangzeb and Minister for Petroleum Pervaiz Malik briefed President Zardari on economic indicators, the energy sector, and government measures in the context of rising petroleum product prices.

The president directed that public relief be prioritised in economic policies, considering the regional situation, and that the burden of petroleum product prices be minimised to facilitate the common man.
