Light diesel price soars by Rs67.51 per litre
1 min readThe federal government on Sunday announced a significant increase in the price of light diesel, following a recent rise in kerosene prices, pushing both petroleum products to new levels.
According to an official notification, the price of light diesel has been raised by Rs67.51 per litre, bringing the new retail price to Rs302.52 per litre.
Earlier, kerosene prices were also increased by Rs39.20 per litre, taking the new price to Rs358.01 per litre, up from the previous rate of Rs318.81 per litre.
Meanwhile, the government has decided to maintain the current prices of petrol and high-speed diesel for the time being.
A statement issued by the Petroleum Division said no changes would be made to the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel until further instructions.
Petrol will remain priced at Rs321.17 per litre, while high-speed diesel will stay at Rs335.86 per litre.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had rejected proposals for steep increases in petroleum product prices and approved keeping petrol and diesel rates unchanged.
