Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Monday said that Pakistan is conducting operations against militant hideouts inside Afghanistan, based on accurate intelligence.

In a statement issued to foreign media outlets, Tarar emphasised that these operations have been precisely focused on terrorist infrastructure and support networks, asserting that no civilian areas have been targeted in Afghanistan.

He reiterated that Pakistan’s goal is to dismantle the terrorist infrastructure, not to cause harm to civilians.

Tarar dismissed claims from the Afghan Taliban government, calling the “imaginary figures” they presented regarding civilian casualties as “not worth serious comment.”

He further rejected statements from the Afghan Ministry of Defence spokesperson, who had made claims about victories against Pakistan on the battlefield.

According to Tarar, these claims were nothing more than propaganda.

The minister also denied reports from the Afghan Taliban regime and the UN Mission in Afghanistan that suggested civilian casualties.

He pointed out that the UN mission was relying solely on the Taliban government for its information and data, which Tarar called biased.

In his statement, Tarar pointed to the joint attacks carried out by the Afghan Taliban and the terrorist group Fitna Al Khawarij.

He stressed that this cooperation between the Taliban and various terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory confirms the existence of a “nexus” between the Afghan Taliban government and multiple terrorist organisations.

Tarar stated that Pakistan responded promptly and effectively to all attacks launched by the Afghan Taliban regime.

He further stated that Pakistan’s military has accurately targeted terrorist groups, including the military bases of the Afghan Taliban, ensuring precision in their operations to safeguard the country’s security.
