Pakistan flight operations disrupted as Middle East war triggers cancellations
1 min readFlight operations across Pakistan have been disrupted due to the war in the Middle East, with multiple cancellations affecting routes to Gulf countries, airport sources said on Monday.
Eighteen flights from Lahore to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Dammam and Muscat, among other Gulf destinations, have been cancelled in the last 24 hours.
Flights from Lahore to Dammam and Riyadh were also cancelled.
Since the start of the US-Israeli attacks on Iran, more than 1,400 flights have been cancelled from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport and other airports across the country.
Due to the uncertain situation, scheduling international flights at any airport has become impossible.
Tensions have also reduced passenger numbers travelling to Gulf countries, while travellers are facing difficulties returning from those destinations.
Passenger traffic from Lahore to Europe and Canada has also declined.
