U.S. Central Command on Sunday rejected claims by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that it had hit the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln.

“Iran’s IRGC claims to have struck USS Abraham Lincoln with ballistic missiles. LIE,” U.S. Central Command said in a post on X.

“The Lincoln continues to launch aircraft in support of CENTCOM’s relentless campaign to defend the American people by eliminating threats from the Iranian regime,” the statement added.

The command said that Abraham Lincoln was not hit and that missiles launched by Iran did not come close.

Earlier, Iranian state media reported that Iran launched a naval attack targeting the U.S. Navy’s aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, claiming that four ballistic missiles were fired at the vessel.

The USS Abraham Lincoln is considered one of the most powerful ships in the U.S. Navy.
