T20 World Cup: Pakistan to face New Zealand in Super Eight opener

Pakistan have qualified for the Super Eight stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup after defeating Namibia by a commanding margin of 102 runs in their final Group A match.

The Super Eight phase will begin on February 21, with eight teams advancing to the next round following the conclusion of the group stage.

Pakistan and India progressed from Group A, while Group B saw Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe qualify.

From Group C, West Indies and England advanced, whereas South Africa and New Zealand secured spots from Group D.

Pakistan will face tough opposition in the Super Eight stage.

Their opening match is scheduled against New Zealand on February 21, followed by a clash with England on February 24.

The Green Shirts will play their final Super Eight fixture against Sri Lanka on February 28.

All four teams are placed in the same Super Eight group, setting the stage for highly competitive encounters.

The other group comprises India, South Africa, the West Indies, and Zimbabwe.

To secure a place in the semi-finals, Pakistan will need to win at least two of their three Super Eight matches.
