Netherlands beat Namibia by seven wickets in T20 World Cup

The Netherlands secured a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Namibia in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group A match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday.

Chasing 156 runs for victory, the Netherlands reached 159 runs for three wickets in 18 overs.

Namibia set a target of 156 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton top-scored with 42 runs off 38 balls, while Jan Frylinck made 30 runs from 26 balls. Captain Gerhard Erasmus added a quick 18 runs off nine balls.

In reply, the Netherlands were led by Bas de Leede, who remained unbeaten on 72 runs, hitting four fours and three sixes

Colin Ackermann contributed 32 runs as the Dutch reached the target with 12 balls to spare, extending their head-to-head dominance over Namibia in T20 internationals.

The win keeps the Netherlands in Group A, which also includes India and Pakistan, while Namibia will aim to recover in their next group match.
