Another incident of a pet lion attack was reported in Lahore on Saturday after an eight-year-old child was seriously injured at a private breeding farm in the Sabzazar Road area.

Police said the incident occurred when the child, identified as Wajid Ali, went near the lion’s cage while playing.

The pet lion bit and chewed the child’s arm, causing critical injuries.

According to police, the owners of the private breeding farm attempted to hide the incident by telling doctors that the child’s hand had been caught in a machine.

Doctors later amputated the child’s hand to save his life.

DIG Operations Faisal Kamran took notice of the incident and ordered strict legal action.

Police said the breeding farm is owned by Umar Iqbal and Ali Iqbal and is licensed by the Wildlife Department.

Police foiled the owners’ attempt to hide the incident, arrested two suspects, and registered a case.

Further legal action is underway.

The injured child was shifted to Ganga Ram Hospital for medical treatment and further assistance.
