At least nine people were killed and 28 others injured after a passenger coach overturned near the Hud area on the Makran Coastal Highway in Gwadar due to overspeeding, police said on Saturday.

The accident occurred when the fast-moving coach lost control and overturned near Hud goth, causing heavy casualties.

Police said the ill-fated coach was travelling from Karachi to Jiwani.

Bodies and injured passengers were shifted to Ormara Hospital for treatment and medico-legal procedures.

Several of the wounded were reported to be in critical condition.

Authorities said investigations were underway to determine the exact cause of the accident, while traffic on the highway was temporarily disrupted following the crash.
