Videos confirm Sohail Afridi’s presence in May 9 incidents

Presence of KP CM Sohail Afridi, Kamran Bangash, Taimur Jhagra and Irfan Saleem in May 9 unrest confirmed

The Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory has completed its detailed report to verify the videos related to the May 9 incidents in Peshawar, in which the presence of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Kamran Bangash, Taimur Jhagra and Irfan Saleem has been confirmed in the videos under analysis.

The report has been prepared on the direction of an Anti-Terrorism Court, which had sought a forensic analysis report from the police in the Radio Pakistan attack case.

According to the police, 16 videos related to the May 9 incidents were sent to the Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory through a USB, where a frame-by-frame technical and visual review of these videos was conducted.

The report states that no evidence of any editing or alteration was found in several videos; however, the addition of logos and written text was identified in a few videos.

According to the forensic report, there were signs of splicing of clips in two videos related to Sohail Afridi and Irfan Saleem.

Along with this, the experts also compared their social media profile pictures to identify the people seen in the videos. Sohail Afridi’s profile picture was compared with the person in the May 9 videos, after which it was concluded that both were the same person.

Similarly, a match was found between the profile pictures of Irfan Saleem, Kamran Bangash and Taimur Jhagra and the people seen in the videos.

The report clarifies that all this analysis was limited to visual material only, and no audio or other evidence was included in it.

The process of preparing the forensic report was completed between December 19 and December 23, 2025.

Police officials say that this report will be presented in court.
