The Sindh government has revised school opening timings across the province due to the prevailing cold weather, directing all public and private schools to start classes at 9.00 a.m. from January 12.

The decision was taken after Education Minister Sardar Shah held consultations with Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, officials said on Saturday.

According to a notification issued by the education department, the revised timings will remain in effect for two weeks, until January 26.

Authorities clarified that there will be no change in school closing times, and only morning opening hours have been adjusted.

The move aims to protect students from extreme cold during early morning hours, particularly in urban and rural areas facing low temperatures.

Education officials have instructed school administrations to strictly implement the revised schedule during the specified period.
