Karachi commuters now have a new travel option as double-decker buses have started running on city roads, offering modern amenities like air conditioning, mobile chargers, CCTV cameras, and open rooftop decks.

The buses, introduced by the Sindh government, operate from 6am to 10pm along the route from Fawara Chowk (Zainab Market) to Malir Halt via Sharea Faisal.

The lower deck is reserved for women, while the upper deck has 45 seats for men.

Ticket prices range from Rs80 to Rs120.

Passengers have praised the service as a modern and thoughtful addition to the city’s transport system, calling for such buses to be introduced on additional routes.

The Sindh government said the service aims to ease traffic congestion and provide better travel facilities for citizens.
