Cleric Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza granted bail in blasphemy case
The Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench on Wednesday approved the bail application of cleric Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza.
The court directed him to submit two surety bonds of Rs500,000 each.
The hearing was conducted by Justice Siddiqat Ali Khan.
Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza faces a blasphemy case registered in Jhelum by the FIA Cyber Crime Wing.
His lawyer, Imran Khalil, appeared before the court during the proceedings.
A first information report (FIR) over blasphemy charges had been filed against Mirza in Jhelum, leading to his petition for protective relief.
The cleric was arrested on August 26 and moved to jail under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).
