Renowned religious scholar and former chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Mufti Muneebur Rehman, was diagnosed with dengue fever and shifted to a private hospital in Karachi on Tuesday.

According to hospital sources, his condition is being monitored by medical specialists.

Political and social figures, along with religious leaders, have expressed concern and prayed for his early recovery.

Mufti Muneebur Rehman served for years as the chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and remains one of Pakistan’s most prominent religious scholar.

Health officials have once again warned that dengue spreads through the bite of an infected mosquito, with larvae thriving in clean, stagnant water.

The National Institute of Health has advised hospitals to take timely preventive measures to curb the spread of the virus.
