OxfordAQA, an international exam board, conducted a series of impactful Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training sessions in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad this week.

Committed to empowering teachers with world-class teaching methodologies, OxfordAQA is based on modern educational research and tried-and-tested approaches. Led by Jamie Kirkaldy, Head of Teaching and Learning Support at OxfordAQA, the sessions connected teachers from various institutions to collaborate on practical techniques for incorporating critical thinking into classroom practice.

“Our CPD programme is designed to help teachers embed critical thinking skills into everyday teaching, so students learn to question, evaluate, and think independently”, said Jamie Kirkaldy.

He mentioned that the focus of such trainings is to support teachers as they nurture future-ready skills in their students.

Kikkaldy said that the teachers who engage in such trainings are better equipped to model critical thinking behaviours, design learning experiences that challenge students to move beyond surface-level understanding and facilitate deeper classroom discussions that encourage analytical reasoning; all of which are key components to success in examinations and higher education.
