PM praises provinces, security forces for peaceful observance of Ashura
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday commended the provincial governments, security forces, and law enforcement agencies for ensuring a peaceful and secure environment across the country during Youm-e-Ashura.
The appreciation came during a meeting between the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who briefed him on the nationwide security arrangements and overall law and order situation during the Ashura commemorations.
Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed satisfaction over the effective measures taken and paid tribute to the chief ministers of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan for their efforts in maintaining peace and ensuring public safety during the sacred occasion.
He praised the performance of the provincial administrations, police, Rangers, and other security forces, calling their coordinated planning and professionalism key to the smooth and peaceful observance of Ashura across the country.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, in his remarks, said the government took all necessary steps to ensure security and public facilitation during the religious processions and gatherings.
The prime minister also acknowledged and appreciated Naqvi’s leadership and coordination for Ashura arrangements, stating that the collective efforts of civil and security institutions made the peaceful commemoration possible.
