Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has lauded the constitutional bench’s recent ruling regarding reserved seats, highlighting its role in strengthening the supremacy of the Constitution and providing an accurate interpretation of the law.

He congratulated the legal team for their dedicated efforts, stating that this ruling not only signifies a win for the constitutional process but also marks a crucial step for democratic values and legal transparency.

During his remarks, the Prime Minister highlighted the professionalism with which the legal team defended constitutional points, leading to a decision that reflects the spirit of the Constitution.

He also invited the opposition to collaborate with the government, encouraging them to contribute positively to the country’s development and prosperity.

Notably, the Supreme Court’s constitutional bench approved review petitions regarding reserved seats, overturning the July 12 decision and upholding the Peshawar High Court’s ruling.

As a result of the court’s acceptance of all petitions against the July 12 ruling, the PTI has lost all reserved seats, allowing the government coalition to gain 22 seats in the National Assembly and 55 seats in the Provincial Assembly.
