Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir has said he is grateful to Allah Almighty on being conferred the rank of Field Marshal, dedicating the honour to the nation, the armed forces, and especially to Pakistan’s civilian and military martyrs and veterans.

In a statement following the announcement, Field Marshal Asim Munir said, “I am grateful to Allah Almighty for being conferred the rank of Field Marshal.”

He added, “I dedicate this honour to the entire nation, the Pakistan Armed Forces, especially to the civilian and military martyrs and war veterans.”

He also expressed appreciation for the trust placed in him by the country’s leadership, stating, “I am thankful for the trust placed in me by the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister, and the Cabinet. This is a national trust, and millions of Asims are ready to sacrifice to uphold it.”

Calling the honour a collective recognition, Munir concluded, “This is not a personal honour but one for the Pakistan Armed Forces and the entire nation.”

President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, federal ministers, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, and the services chiefs have congratulated General Syed Asim Munir on his elevation to the rank of Field Marshal.
