Strong earthquake hits Islamabad, KP
Residents in Islamabad and multiple areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa experienced strong earthquake tremors, causing widespread panic as people rushed outside their homes and buildings while reciting the Kalma Tayyaba.
The Seismological Center confirmed that the earthquake measured 5.3 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 230 kilometers, and its epicenter was identified in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.
The tremors were felt in several locations, including Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, and North Waziristan. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or property damage thus far.
In response to the situation, the Meteorological Department and disaster management authorities have advised citizens to remain vigilant and to contact emergency services at 1122 or local officials if needed.
