Strong earthquake tremors felt nationwide, including Islamabad

A powerful earthquake struck several regions of Pakistan, shaking cities including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.

Residents in these metropolitan areas reported experiencing strong tremors.

The earthquake also affected parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where people in Peshawar, Lower Dir, Swat, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, and Mansehra felt the ground tremble.

In the northern areas, the quake jolted Gilgit, Ghizar, Chitral, and Astore. It also caused tremors in Abbottabad, Dera Ismail Khan, and Taxila.

Authorities recorded the magnitude of the earthquake at 5.9 on the Richter scale and struck at a depth of 94 kilometers below the surface.
